Sylvia Garcia was born and raised in Southwest Detroit. After High School, she was drawn to the medical field and completed medical assistant training. As a Certified Medical Assistant, Ms. Garcia worked at various health centers, including CHASS Center. Sylvia wanted to expand her knowledge and continue to serve vulnerable populations as a healthcare provider; so, she furthered her education and became a Family Nurse Practitioner. Her passion for educating patients about proper diet and exercise to prevent obesity and diabetes brought Sylvia back to join the Team at CHASS.
